In a statement prior to his death, Mr Pask said he feared he had come into contact with asbestos during his career as a joiner.

He said he removed the corrugated asbestos sheets from the roof of the building where he worked.

East Sussex coroner Alan Craze recorded a verdict that Mr Pask’s death was due to industrial disease.

Inquests are open to the public and members of the press who are permitted to report the proceedings in full.
