Latest East Sussex Covid-19 figures as hospital deaths rise to 87

The number of people who have died with Covid-19 in East Sussex hospitals has risen to 87, according to NHS England.

The figures show an increase of one death which was recorded on Monday (June 29).

It was the first Covid-19 death in a hospital operated by the East Sussex NHS Healthcare Trust (ESHT) since June 17 when two deaths were recorded, the figures show.

The total number of people who have died with Covid-19 in East Sussex Hospitals – Eastbourne District General Hospital, Conquest Hospital and Bexhill Hospital – stands at 87.

Figures from Public Health England show 780 people have tested positive for the virus across the county.

– Hastings 58

– Rother 109

– Eastbourne 165

– Lewes 217

– Wealden 231

A total of 1,378 people in West Sussex have tested positive for the virus, with another 489 cases in Brighton and Hove, Public Health England figures show.
