Brighton and Hove's total remains far and away the highest since the pandemic began, with 1,067 confirmed cases.

Hastings continues to buck the national trend, recording just 207 positive cases since the pandemic began.

The most recent weekly figures cover September 21 to 27, due to a delay in Public Health England's data updating. The number of cases recorded in total over that week, for each local authority, are as follows:

Brighton and Hove - 36

Lewes - 10

Eastbourne - 14

Rother - 10

Wealden - 12

Hastings - 11

A total of 7,143 new cases of coronavirus were reported across the UK yesterday, taking the total to 446,156.
