Jobs fair for young people in Eastbourne

The event is being held at The Loft Lounge in Eastbourne town centre

The town’s Jobcentre is holding the event called ‘Eastbourne Loves to Work’ on Valentine’s Day in The Loft Lounge, Station Street, in the town centre.

Employers with current jobs, or jobs available in the near future, will be on site with relevant partner organisations to support the event.

Work coaches from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will also be there to introduce young people to the employers and employability support which is available to them.

The event will run from 10am until 3pm on Friday, February 14, and there will be tea, coffee, and soft drinks available to purchase.

This comes as the latest figures from the DWP reveal the number of young people (aged 18-24) claiming unemployment benefit in the Eastbourne constituency has risen since last year by 15 per cent to 371.

However that is, according to the figures, 18 per cent fewer than five years ago.
