GCSE results day: Eastbourne Academy students achieve ‘fantastic’ grades
Eastbourne Academy students ‘continue to build on the school’s success’ after achieving ‘fantastic’ GCSE results.
The Year 11 pupils at the Brodrick Road school received their results today (Thursday, August 20).
Principal Ms Victoria Stevens said, “The Eastbourne Academy Year 11 students have seen yet another year of fantastic outcomes and/or progress and this is richly deserved. This year’s results build on the school’s continued success.
“Although this has been a most unusual year, and the circumstances surrounding the examinations have been less than ideal, there have been numerous outstanding achievements for many of our young people.”
The school wanted to give a special mention to Scott Waddington, Amy Whiteman, Sara Noite, Courtney Bowers, Natalie Besmel, Rebekah Woolven, Husnaa Shams, Lisa Tyrell, Jack Miller, Sammi Cooper, Sophie Deaves, Naim Khan, Pavan Sahadevan, Natasha Caires, Zachary Scott-Paul and Jayme Guthrie who all received the top grade 9 (A*) in multiple subjects or excelled and made ‘phenomenal progress’.
Ms Stevens said, “Examination results and qualifications are the stepping stone to further education and employability.
“Coupled with the strength of character the Class of 2020 have shown, staff at The Eastbourne Academy are delighted with the solid foundation they have for long term success.”
