Eastbourne secondary school staff star in video for students
Staff at an Eastbourne secondary school have produced and starred in a YouTube video to keep in touch with their students during the coronavirus pandemic.
St Catherine’s College, in Priory Road, released the Staff Hello video on Wednesday (May 20) which featured about 40 members of the school’s working team self-record a supportive message for pupils.
Headteacher Mr Berhane said, “When I say how dreadfully I miss my colleagues, our students and the vibrancy of school life, I’m certain I’m just reflecting the mood of the teaching community in the UK.
“So when the idea of touching base and saying hello to our students was proposed, it was supported by everyone, even the most camera shy.
“I’m delighted it’s been received well and hopefully put a few smiles on faces during such uncertain times.”
One member of staff said in the video, “Really missing you. It’s strange times at the moment but I’ve seen some brilliant work that you’ve handed in.
“Make sure you look after yourselves, look after your family, follow the guidelines, and most importantly stay safe.”
Lynda Sorrell-Fleet said on the school’s Facebook page, “These videos mean so much to pupils and parents alike. Thank you.”
