East Sussex children’s charity launches home school pack

Money from the coronavirus community support fund which is distributed by The National Lottery has allowed the group, which supports special needs and disabled children, to launch a home school pack initiative.

As many children are currently out of school for a variety of reasons, including those who are having to isolate due to the Covid pandemic, it falls to parents and carers to provide education and activities to keep children learning and occupied.

Embrace East Sussex has pledged to take some of this pressure off by delivering personalised kits to those who need them. Originally designed to support children already registered with the charity, Embrace is now opening the scheme up to the wider community.

According to Embrace, the monthly home school kits are packed with fun and games designed to enhance learning and wellbeing.

The pack includes a book bag, stationery and a range of personalised activities on a range of subjects.

Everything has been selected by the home school co-ordinator for Embrace, Katy Allingham.

Embrace says the scheme has so far proven to be incredibly popular with parents, describing the packs as ‘a valuable and much appreciate resource’ while the children have enjoyed learning through play with new activities each month.
