The school, in Eldon Road, Old Town, said a large number of pupils achieved very strong grades and made great progress.

Peter Marchant, headteacher at Cavendish, congratulated all the Year 11 pupils for their hard work throughout the years and gave a special mention to high achievers Freddie Bobbin, Ethan Page and Roda Ononivu who each gained Grades eight or nine in all of their qualifications.

He added: “The grades that our pupils have achieved are a reflection of their hard work throughout their time at the school and they can rightly feel proud of what they have achieved.

“They can look forward to the next stage of their education and we wish them well for the future.”

The staff and governors of Cavendish sent their best wishes to all the Year 11 pupils and congratulated them for the fantastic GCSE grades they have achieved.
