Two chain fashion shops in Eastbourne shut for good

Two popular fashion shops in Eastbourne are set to close permanently next week.

Monsoon and Accessorize in Terminus Road, owned by the same company, are closing on Saturday, May 22.

Back in May last year it was reported the company Monsoon Accessorize was close to going into administration, putting 3,500 jobs at risk.

Some 220 of its stores have been shut, along with all other non-essential shops across the UK, on and off since March 2020 due the covid pandemic.

In June 2020 Peter Simon bought the company out of administration in a deal which secured 2,3000 jobs and a ‘significant number of stores’, according to reports of the sale.

That same month 35 stores were shut nationwide, but the Eastbourne branches on Terminus Road remained open.

Now it has been confirmed through a closing down sale that the town centre stores are shutting permanently.
