According to plans submitted to Wealden District Council, land adjoining Belle Vue cottages could be the site for nine new houses.

The plans say the rectangular plot of land, which fronts onto the north eastern side of Hailsham Road at Stone Cross currently consists of a mobile home and two single-storey buildings used for storage.

The mobile home would be removed and storage buildings demolished for the houses to be build, plans say.

According to the plans, one three-bed, six four-bed, and two five-bed houses – all detached and two-storey – would be build with associated access, parking, and landscaping.

Plans say four shared entrances will be created to give access to the properties from Hailsham Road. Every house would also have outdoor storage for refuse and bikes, a garage, and private gardens.

The proposed site is walking distance to the services in Stone Cross, and there is a bus stop close by too, the plans say.

Members of the public can comment on the plans until May 14.
