Lewis & Co Planning has written to residents living nearby saying it wants to consult on new proposals for St Andrews United Reform Church in Blackwater Road ahead of submitting a planning application to Eastbourne council.

In January 2018 plans were approved to demolish the church and nearby Albury House and build in its place 35 flats.

But the new scheme would be for 17 houses with 13 car park spaces.

Developers say the amended scheme will be superior to the approved one as it will be a “reduced density of development, a better ratio of houses to parking spaces and a lower height of the development”.
