IKEA apologises for advert showing man on the edge of Beachy Head
IKEA has apologised and removed advertising for a wearable quilt that showed a person standing on the edge of Beachy Head.
In the pictures posted to the company’s UK Instagram story a person is pictured wearing a Fältmal, a cushion/quilt according to the IKEA website, alongside the caption, ‘staycation like Sven’.
The company also posted the same image with a caption promoting the wearable quilt that is available for £25.
An IKEA spokesperson said, “We’re sincerely sorry for any concern or upset that the image may have caused.
“It goes without saying that we would never wish to cause offence and took the image down immediately on realising our error.”
The pictures come a month after East Sussex County Council issued a warning following photographs of people sitting near the cliff’s edge.
