G7 Summit: Eastbourne business prepares to host global event with world leaders
A company in Eastbourne is delivering the G7 Summit in Cornwall next month which will be attended by all the world leaders.
Identity, an events agency based in the Westham business park, is holding the 47th G7 Summit – an event that sees the seven largest advanced economies in the world discuss mutual matters.
Those in attendance will include Boris Johnson, Joe Biden, Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel.
Following a competitive application process, the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office appointed Identity to deliver the three-day world summit. This year the event is taking place in Carbis Bay, Cornwall on June 11-13.
The summit is the first mass-participation live event to take place since the pandemic, heralding the long awaited return to live events.
Michael Gietzen, managing director for Identity, said, “This will be the largest multilateral summit that the UK will host following its departure from the EU and, indeed, the UK’s first international in-person event since the pandemic lock-down.”
Janet Dodd, director of live events at Identity, said, “We are honoured to have been chosen and trusted to deliver this very important and prestigious event. Once again Identity will be able to showcase its expertise in the smooth execution of a major, high-profile international event.
“From a delivery aspect, we will apply our best-in-class experience of working with world leaders and, at the same time showcase the very best of Cornwall.“
This comes after a year where Identity ranked 25th place in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table of the fastest-growing companies in the UK and gained a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
