Eastbourne council runs the Cornfield Road centre and says it is currently consulting with staff over a possible move.

If it is given the go ahead, it would mean box office and Tourist Information Centre staff will all be under one roof at the multi-million state of the art Welcome Building next to the Congress.

The council might then look to sell or rent the town centre building in a bid to raise cash as the authority looks to bring in cash in light of a cut in funding from central government.

A spokesperson at the council said, “We are currently consulting with staff over a proposal to move the Tourist Information Centre.”
