The pub’s owners Harvey’s Brewery (HB) said in a statement today (Tuesday, August 11) it has had to close the Blackboys Inn, in Uckfield, while all members of staff self-isolate and so the establishment can be deep cleaned.

A HB spokesperson said, “HB holds the health and safety and well-being of our customers and staff with the upmost of importance.

“Unfortunately one of our staff members at the Blackboys Inn tested positive for covid-19 last week. We have therefore had to close the pub for the time being whilst all relevant staff self-isolate in line with the government guidelines and also to allow us to fully deep clean the pub.

“We thank you for your continued loyalty, cooperation and patience at this difficult time and urge everyone to remain cautious, stay safe and follow our social channels for further updates on the pub reopening.

“The Blackboys Inn management team are consulting with Public Health England and will continue to follow their guidance going forwards.

“Please don’t hesitate to get in touch via [email protected] should you have any concerns or enquiries.”
