New homes to be built at Langney

An application to build the houses on land in Sandpiper Walk, next to Langney Shopping Centre, was recently approved by Eastbourne council planners.

Fourteen of the houses will have two bedrooms and two will be larger with three bedrooms. There will be 22 parking spaces.

The development attracted more than 15 objections from neighbours concerned about flooding, an increase in traffic, parking problems, noise disturbance and a lack of affordable housing – which developer Park Lane Homes Ltd says would not be financially viable due to development costs.
