Eastbourne Pier set to re-open

Abid Gulzar is re-opening the doors on Friday and says he has invested heavily on the site during lockdown, building four new units.

Mr Gulzar said public safety remains his number one priority in what he called “these very challenging times”.

The arcades and a handful of the concessions will open first with the other units to follow.

Sanitisation fluid will be available to people as they walk onto the pier with face masks mandatory inside the shops and arcades and strict social distancing measures will be in place.

Mr Gulzar said, “I am proud I have continued to make a substantial investment into Eastbourne Pier at what is very worrying times for businesses and the town generally.

“There is no doubt that Covid 19 will have a long-lasting effect on Eastbourne.

“Reopening the pier after investing heavily is positive news for Eastbourne.”
