Films made in Eastbourne

On Tuesday evening at 7.30pm the Made In Eastbourne film season begins with Made In Dagenham at the Under Ground Theatre.

The movie is a dramatization of the 1968 strike at the Ford Dagenham car plant where female workers walked out in protest against sexual discrimination and set the ball rolling for equal pay for women - a subject which is still under fierce debate.

Starring Sally Hawkins, Bob Hoskins, Miranda Richardson and Geraldine James, the film features a number of scenes set in Eastbourne – including representations of Eastbourne’s iconic pier. Bar and coffee-bar open from 7pm. Tickets: £5.
