Spokesman Dan Matthews said: “Back in March, when toilet roll, zoom calls with your grandparents and the word unprecedented provided a light-hearted backdrop to the genuinely terrifying unknowns of a global pandemic, people around the world came up with innovative and fun ways to stay connected during lockdown.

“One such initiative in Hastings, Isolation Station, turned an entire town into would be TV presenters, live-streaming everything from yoga classes, workshops, music and chat shows eight hours every day.”

St Leonards resident Sue Tilley has now teamed up with Home Live Art to create a live interactive life drawing class.

“Having posed for Lucian Freud’s £35m painting Benefits Supervisor Resting, Sue came armed with a black book that even the most well-connected members of the arts scene would make a beeline for.

“Given that most of her celebrity mates were twiddling their thumbs in isolation, Sue was able to line up a star studded cast of life models, including EastEnders actress Michelle Collins, queer icon and ID journalist Princess Julia and iconic fashion designer Daniel Lismore who Vogue called England’s most eccentric dresser.

“As models pose in their own homes, Sue’s informal chit chat disarms her subjects and the lucky residents of her seaside town can eavesdrop on intimate and personal chit chat about careers, life, lockdown, 90s parties and celebrity stories galore.

“But beneath the glitz and glamour, the real magic of this format is that it brings together hundreds of people to undertake a meditative hour of drawing and creativity together, sharing and experience in real time as they chat in the comments with each other, Sue and her model.

“With autumn on the way, and lockdown measures looking like they may be tightening once again, Sue Tilley’s Life Drawing Class is back for September at a new time of 7.30pm.

“Her first guest, on Monday, September 14 is queer performer, Oozing Gloop, who describes himself as the world’s leading green autistic drag queen, followed on September 21 by legendary guitarist from Madness Chrissy Boy and local Hastings activist Claudine Eccleston who is celebrated as Britain’s first female plumber on September 28.

“If you’re looking to escape from the mayhem of the modern world for an hour and to reinvigorate your creative juices, tune in to Isolation Station Hastings on Facebook Mondays this September – https://www.facebook.com/isolation.station.hastings”
