Sunday, July 23 sees the return of the Sussex Festival Choir to Arundel Cathedral for their annual charity concert. This year celebrates their 20th anniversary, with a reflection of their inaugural concert A celebration of Mozart.

Founder Stephen Hope said: “The programme opens with the delightful Eine Kleine Nachmusik, followed by the sparkling Allelujah from the Exultate Jubilate. The first half concludes with the iconic Clarinet Concerto, showcasing local soloist Michelle Andrews. The second half presents the powerful Requiem in all its solemn majesty. As always, the orchestra and soloists kindly donate their services free of charge and all the proceeds from this concert will be given to St. Catherine’s and St Wilfred’s hospices, and will push the total raised ever closer to £200,000! The evening’s soloists also include Gillian Ramm, Thalie Knights, the wonderful doyen tenor Neil Jenkins and bass Lawrence Broomfield.”

Tickets are £24 & £22 for concessions (cash/cheque are available on the door): “The seats are unreserved, so early arrival will guarantee your optimum position in the Cathedral to enjoy the evening. The concert starts at 7.15pm. ”

Stephen added: “This concert is a very special occasion for me representing 20 years of friends and colleagues coming together to make music and raise funds for the wonderful hospices . My passion for the cause and the dream of reaching my goal of £250,000 remains undimmed and I look forward to the next 20 years with excitement and anticipation.”
