UPDATE: Two men in hospital after car and van crash on A21
A 50-year-old man from Chelmsford, Essex, was driving south in a red Vauxhall Mokka when it crashed with a silver Vauxhall Astra van coming the other way at Riccards Lane at around 7pm.
The Mokka overturned into bushes and a passenger, a 35-year-old London man, was both mechanically and medically trapped so East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service released him by cutting off the top of the car with electrics cutters, lifting equipment and forcible entry tools.

Hide AdThe Chelmsford man was treated by paramedics for serious leg and pelvic injuries at the scene before being taken to the Conquest Hospital as a priority.
A 29-year-old Bexhill man who was driving the van suffered hip and back pain and was also taken to the Conquest for treatment, the London man sustained minor injuries.
South East Coast Ambulance Service sent three response cars and two ambulances to the scene.
The road was closed in both directions following the crash but it reopened three hours later.
