Traveller community moved on by police
A contingent arrived last Monday but failed to get on the field and were moved on by police.
Rye county councillor Keith Glazier said: “It must be the time of year but we have had a number of incidents with travellers - a total of three across the county, including travellers forcing their way onto a school playing field at Lewes.

“I would like local people to be aware of the situation.”
Rye Rother councillor Lord Ampthill said: “There are proposals to identify a small number of additional permanent travellers sites in the district.
“It is, unsurprisingly, a very sensitive issue, not least due to the high percentage of areas of outstanding natural beauty in Rother.”
