Top Mid Sussex council role for Peter Griffiths
Peter Griffiths, who is also Cabinet Member for Corporate Relations, was appointed at the CLCs first meeting since the elections.
Councillors also agreed to award nearly £10,000 between a number of voluntary and community organisations in the area.

Hide AdThe money, part of the Prevention and Wellbeing Grants, is for projects which promote social contact, exercise, and educational activities.
Peter said: “The committee is very pleased to be able to help voluntary and community organisations with these grants.
“I am also extremely happy to represent South Mid Sussex as its County Local Committee chairman.
“Local produce was on show and Henry Langridge of Rushfields Farm Shop presented some of his prize-winning sausages for tasting to councillors and residents.

Hide Ad“Bedlam beers and Albourne Vineyard sparkling wine also featured - they were much appreciated.”
Committee members also awarded £1,500 to Burgess Hill-based charity Kangeroos to set up a Saturday club for young adults with learning disabilities.
The cash is from the Community Initiative Funding which helps projects led by local organisations.
Since its creation in 2006, the CIF programme has distributed more than £1.2million to 450 schemes in West Sussex.
