A minute’s silence was held at Lewes Football Club on Saturday, February 8, to remember 29-year-old Joe Arnold who tragically died after a fire at his flat last month.

During the afternoon, a collection was made for the mental health charity Mind and raised £773.

Joe’s father, David Arnold, was immensely proud and pleased at the amount of money donated by fans.

“Mind is also the charity we’ve nominated to benefit from any donations made at our son’s funeral. In fact several hundred pounds has already been received via by the undertakers Grace of Ringmer and we expect to see this sum grow rapidly.”

Joe’s funeral is being held at Wealden Crematorium in Horam,
