Last Saturday (November 26), Southwater Community Partnership ran the Christmas Festival again.

The Community Partnership is made up from those in the community who want to keep Southwater as a great place to live by providing events and improvements the village sees as important.

With over 30 stalls, pony rides, Santa and his helpers in his grotto, fairground rides, food from local providers, raffle, wheel of fortune and with a line up of stage acts, which included dance groups and schools, the event was the best to date. A team of police cadets kept things in order with two vehicles for children to test out emergency lights and to see inside them.

Band Amalgamation got the crowd swinging and ready for Christmas, ending the event with a number of Christmas carols and the turning on of the lovely Southwater Christmas Lights by Santa.

A special thanks to Hayley Timson and Amy Reed who with their team of wonderful volunteers made the event possible.
