LETTER: Link Road simply moved congestion

These concerns were pooh-poohed by the Highways people at the time - I quote a letter dated August 20, 2013 from their engagement officer, BHLR Project Team:
“Our traffic modelling has shown that Battle will experience a reduction in traffic levels.”

Meddling would be a better word, I hear you say, for the area is now blighted by a continuous flow of traffic; in fact, all the Link Road has done is to move traffic congestion from one place to another, and it will remain this way until the Queensway Gateway is built, and that’s about three years away.
To add to this turmoil, there are five important direction signs along The Ridge between the Beauport roundabout and Junction Road, but overhanging trees obscure most of them from view. The only one visible stands at the bottom of its support port and points to the Castleham Industrial Estate - wonderful, except that it faces in the wrong direction!
