Man attacked with claw hammer in Crawley residential street

A man has been arrested after a claw hammer attack in a Crawley residential street.

Police were called to an address in Leopold Road at about 4.24pm this afternoon, February 21.

A spokesman said: “A man has been arrested following an incident in Crawley this afternoon (Sunday 21 February).

“A man was reported to have been assaulted with a claw hammer. He sustained minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.”

Officers arrested a 55-year-old local man on suspicion of assault, said police. He remains in police custody at this stage.

The spokesman added: “This was an isolated incident with no threat to the wider community.”
