Bexhill "welcome's" return could be delayed
It was first thought that the welcome sign had been stolen. Now it appears it was the victim of a crash. This means that an insurance claim is pending.
The issue was first raised by a questioner on Rother leader Cllr Carl Maynard's Ask The Leader slot on the www.rother.gov.uk website last summer.

"In answer to my question about the Bexhill-on-Sea sign on Barnhorn Road, you replied that it had been stolen but it would be replaced by September/October.
"Here we are in December and still no replacement. What is the projected date now?"
The leader says: "It has now become apparent that the loss of the sign was as a result of a vehicle accident. The cost of replacement is being sought through the driver's insurers and this has unfortunately led to some delay in us being able to order a replacement.
"We now understand that the claim is being progressed and the order for the new sign will be placed early in the New Year."
