FILM REVIEW: Self Made
AWARD-winning artist Gillian Wearing directs this provocative documentary about seven people who answered her newspaper advertisement, which read, “Would you like to be in a film? You can play yourself or a fictional character.”
Guided by Method acting teacher Sam Rumbelow, the seven volunteers delve deep into their memories and personal experiences, some of them extremely painful, to create a vivid moment of performance in front of Wearing’s camera.
