The Hippodrome was host to 52 young performers on Saturday, who presented a charity show.

Eastbourne based choir, Angelica, entertained a packed audience with songs from West End shows including Fiddler on the Roof, CATS, Wicked, Chicago, Miss Saigon and Sister Act.

Sophie Shearer devised an authentically choreographed show bringing everyone’s favourite tunes to life. With 37 costume changes and songs from the high drama of Defying Gravity from Wicked to the soulful Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again from Phantom of the Opera to the hilarity of The Song That Goes Like This from Spamalot.

The event was to raise money for the Starlight Children’s foundation. Millie Jones, a member of the choir, had her wish granted by Starlight when she and her family travelled to Florida to swim with dolphins. The evening raised £1,500.
