THE timeless hits of 80s band Madness come to town this month when Eastbourne Stagers present the musical Our House at the Devonshire Park Theatre.
The classic songs of Suggs & Co are the platform for an original musical love story that is a romantic and emotional journey through one boy’s life.
This boy is Joe Casey (Leigh Baker), who over a five-year period from his 16th birthday has a series of choices to make.
Trying not to make the mistakes of his father (Gareth Brighton) and trying not to be a disappointment to his mum Kath (Jane James) we follow the two paths of Joe, one where he tries to do the right things in life and one where he is led into temptation and follows the bad path.
In both story lines there are a whole host of characters Joe meets on the way.
Ever present are his loyal, but comical friends Emmo and Lewis (Nathan Morris and David Fricker), the love of his life Sarah (Rosie Sargent) and her two best friends sisters Billie and Angie Morton (Nikki Brook and Katie Miller).
Colourful costumes and exciting choreography compliment a whole host Madness favourites such as Driving in My Car, It Must Be Love, Baggy Trousers and the title track Our House.
Our House opens on Tuesday September 13 for a week’s run. Evening performances are at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. For tickets call 412000.
