Strange goings-on at the ticket office as Eastbourne's 2013 pantomime Aladdin prepares to open at The Devonshire Park Theatre.

One of the most eagerly anticipated Eastbourne pantomimes of all opens at The Devonshire Park Theatre tonight (Friday, December 13).

Aladdin, starring former EastEnders baddie Shaun Williamson, will run over the entire Christmas period and until January 12 - a total of 53 performances.

The cast will have just five free days over that period and their tough timetable includes four Saturdays when they will put on three performances (11am, 2.30pm & 7pm).

Sean takes the role of the dastardly magician Abanazaar while local funny man Tucker returns to the Devonshire Park as Wishee-Washee following his storming performance last year.

Martyn Knight celebrates 10 years as the south’s most popular pantomime dame, this time Widow Twankey, and the cast also includes West End star Charlene Ford as Aladdin and the grooviest Genie of the Lamp as CG Fraser returns.
