Swinging At The Cotton Club at the Royal Hippodrome on June 20 8pm promises to be a wild night out. Featuring Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm Orchestra with the Jiving Lindy Hoppers, and vocalists Marlene Hill and Megs Etherington this is an action-packed show which celebrates the music, dance and songs of the Cotton Club, the famous night-club which flourished in New York’s Harlem in the 1920’s and 1930’s.
The musicians are not only some of the best but they know how to have fun and don’t mind a bit of teasing by compere and singer Megs. As the audience is taken back to the jazz era the Jiving Lindy Hoppers show their high octane routines, including some tap numbers fit to bring the house down. One highlight is a breathtaking duet between veteran drummer Graham Collicott and dancer Lee Payne. Tickets cost £21,available on 01323 80 20 20 or www.royalhippodrome.com
