Watch the fantastic 11-strong cast produce arguably one of Shakespeare’s best known and loved tragedies;’ storytelling at it’s best.’
Set in Verona during the Renaissance, Romeo and Juliet tells a story of love strong enough to die for.
When Romeo and his friends gate-crash a masked ball of their family’s most hated enemy he falls in love with Juliet.
“Prodigious birth of love it is to me, That I must love a loathed enemy.” (Act 1 Scene 5).
From this moment they unknowingly begin an unstoppable chain reaction that leads to passion, defiance, murder, suicide and the greatest love story ever told.
The production will be set firmly in the period Shakespeare meant it to be played, a time in history known for courtly love, deadly duels and extravagance.
It will have everything you expect from the greatest love story of ‘star crossed lovers’; passion, drama, a masked ball, luscious costumes and exciting fight scenes (choreographed by Lyndall Grant).
After a successful run at The Space in London, Off West End nominated Director, Amber Elliott, brings Romeo and Juliet to the coast with the fledgling production company Birdiedoes.
