“There’s no business like showbusiness,” sang Ethel Merman. And that is exactly what the Ropemaker Theatre Company is planning to bring to The Pavilion Theatre in Hailsham, on Saturday, November 9.
The theatre company’s aim is to present affordable productions to the community, and it has announced plans to stage Celebrating The Good Olde Days.
The evening will be extra special because it’s not only for the community but by the community.
People of a certain age will remember the television series The Good Old Days, featuring a host of variety acts, encouraged by the emcee, who stood on a podium with gavel in hand, spouting extraordinarily long words.
Well, this is what’s being planned. RTC are looking for speciality acts – jugglers, magicians, actors, singers, comedians, acrobats, snake charmers and, well, you get the message, to appear on the evening. Some acts have already been booked, but there’s room for more.
Auditions will be during September, so if anyone is interested, or knows anybody who can ‘do a turn’, don’t hesitate – contact John Wilders on 07973 473321 or hookup via www.ropemakertheatrecompany.co.uk, or leave a message on the company’s Facebook page.
