Powerful play set in African bush for Under Ground Theatre

DEEP in the African Bush, a captured poacher is bound by his own snares – and looks down the barrel of a gun...

Snared is a powerful play exploring issues of worldwide importance.

By placing on stage a captured illegal poacher, an angry wildlife ranger and an armed conservationist, the central arguments are given passionate and dynamic life in a performance style that fuses live action with authentic film footage.

The production was originally devised by Eastbourne College drama students and is scripted by South African writer Floyd Toulet.

Snared is produced in partnership with Smokescreen Visuals and directed by Tim Marriott.

The performance stars local professional actors Suzanne Procter and Phillip Poole but also features Zambian conservationist Manny Mvula.

Snared supports the work of charities The Born Free Foundation and The High Five Club and each performance will be followed by post show talk backs with Manny Mvula.
