Our Dancing Feet: true, & not so true, tales from the dancefloor...will be performed three times this weekend at the Winter Garden (7.30pm on March 22 and 1pm and 6pm on March 23)
A hot, night out in June, just before the Coronation in 1953; Joanie, Babs and Vi dance the night away. In 2014, Joan looks back on that night, remembering her dancing days at the Winter Garden.
A site specific, theatrical spectacle celebrating the history of the Winter Garden; the music, fashions, and the social mores and etiquette of partner dancing in the 1950s.
Our Dancing Feet is inspired by local people’s memories and stories of the dance halls of their youth and includes film projections, stunning dance sequences and fabulous frocks; and the big band, swing music sounds of the era. It is performed by a professional cast with over 50 dancers from the local community including the Winter Garden Tea Dancers, Ratton & Cavendish Schools, Yvonne Wright Dance School, WRVS, Jane & Norman Oddy Dance School and Eastbourne LeRoc.
Our Dancing Feet performances are free, but tickets MUST be booked in advance from the Winter Garden Box Office,
