Accomplished song-writing and rich vocal harmonies are the hallmarks of Suntrap who return to The Lamb Folk Club on Wednesday, June 18.
The band comprises Sara Byers (voice, accordion, guitar, whistles, bohdran(, Robin Kelly (fretless bass, cello), Paul Hoad (voice, guitar, harmonica), John Sandall (violin, viola) and Mary Wilson (voice, violin).
Together they perform a mesmerising array of music, including their own material and the best of the traditional and contemporary repertoire.
Songwriters Sara and Paul create original, innovative works drawing on the English song tradition and American folk and country.
Their latest CD, ‘Unravelling’, their first for a major folk label, features several of their songs and has been particularly well received.
Renowned for their superb live shows, they have appeared at clubs and festivals all over the UK and Europe, and radio features have included the Mike Harding Show and a live performance on Radio 4’s ‘Loose Ends’.
All are welcome, admission is £6 on the door, and the start time is 8pm. Any enquiries can be made on 728268.
