The Royal Hippodrome continues its season of one-night specials in June with almost every Saturday taken up with an evening that should appeal to crowds of all ages.
This Saturday (June 8) Andrew Parsons presents Sophie Evans in concert.
Sophie ,who shot to fame in BBC’s “Over the Rainbow” search for a Dorothy, stars with special guest Tim Prottey-Jones and supported by 30 local children from Eastbourne Stagecoach and Cavendish School.
The show features songs from musicals such as Miss Saigon, Wicked and of course the Wizard of Oz. Tickets cost £15.50-£16.50 with £2 off for concessions (start time 7.45pm)
The following week, at the start of Tennis Week, the Hippodrome plays hosts to something that has not happened in Eastbourne in a very long time – A Grease Film Party!
RHT management are investing in the installation of a new screen and projector system at the 130-year theatre and on Saturday, June 15, audiences will get to watch the original film on the big screen.
The party is hosted by Tracey Lea and Mike Lee who will get the audience revved up and on their feet dancing to the beat. There might even be a huge conga! Prices £12 (£10 concessions) with a special group discount – great for a party night out. (Start time 7.30pm) Come dressed up in your 1950s gear.
That 1950’s theme continues on Saturday, June 29 when all the greatest musical stars of the 1950s and 1960s come amazingly alive in a spectacular non-stop show.
Take a nostalgic trip back in time to the greatest era of rock and roll and enjoy top class tributes performed from the heart by high-quality musicians, including the legendary Chris Fender Black. Tickets cost £15—£17.50 (start time 7,45pm).
