The pure, clear sound of a choir singing a cappella can be an uplifting experience, and St Andrew’s Church, Alfriston - also known as ‘The Cathedral of the Downs’ - is the perfect setting.

Noteworthy Voices is an Eastbourne group of just 20 well-tuned voices, directed by Soprano Ansy Boothroyd. The concert on Saturday May 7 at 7.30 pm features collections of songs by Debussy, Duruflé and Parry as well as Robert Pearsall, a Victorian composer of madrigals in the Renaissance style. Entry £8. Children free. For more go to www.noteworthyvoices.co.uk
