DISCOVER the romance of 19th Century Vienna when the Johann Strauss Gala makes a welcome return to the Congress Theatre on January 22 (7.30pm).

Waltz back in time to the days of grandeur and glittering ballrooms with an enchanting mix of music, song and dance from the Strauss Family and Friends.

A host of Strauss favourites include Tritsch Tratsch Polka, The Blue Danube Waltz, Emporor Waltz, Auf der Jagd, Pizzicato Polka, Redetzky March, Cuckoo Polka, Thunder and Lightening Polka, The Laughing Song from Die Fiedermaus and Tales from the Vienna Woods.

The Johann Strauss Orchestra is directed from the violin in the traditional Viennese manner by David Juritz joined by soprano Amy Freston and the Johann Strauss Dancers in glorious costumes of the period, with choreography and staging by Christopher Hampson.
