A FAVOURITE with Under Ground Theatre jazz audiences, Sue Richardson returns on January 28 (8pm) – with her engaging voice and warm trumpet-sound.
This will be the first event of 2011 in the UGT auditorium after the replacement of its ceiling.
Sue will be showcasing a range of numbers made famous by the legendary trumpeter/singer Chet Baker – as well as giving us a taste of her latest CD, Fanfare, a collection of original songs celebrating different styles of jazz from New Orleans to blues, swing and samba.
Sue had an amazing 2010, performing live and being interviewed on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, joining a glittering line-up at the Hammersmith Apollo for Humph’s Celebration Concert, and flying the flag for British jazz on French TV when a live interview in Paris also featured a video clip and a snippet from Fanfare. All that - plus appearances at jazz festivals and venues all over the UK.
On January 28, Sue will be sharing the UGT stage with the rest of her Quintet – Neal Richardson (piano), Andy Williams (guitar), George Trebar (bass), and Sam Glasson (drums).
Tickets cost £10, call 737677 or buy them from the Tourist Information Centre.
