THE RECENTLY formed Crownstreet, an up-and-coming band on the folk scene, perform at The Lamb Folk Club on March 2.

The band comprises members of well-established East Anglian ceilidh bands, Bass Instincts and The Hosepipe Band, and regulars at The Lamb will remember Simon Haines (melodeons and bandoneon) and Val Woollard (woodwind, dulcimer and desk bells) as members of Bof!, whose performance at the club was one of last year’s highlights.

Completing the line-up is Bobby Moffat (flute, whistle and saxophone) and Stuart Moffat (guitars and cittern).

With all four members making vocal contributions, the band draws inspiration from an eclectic range of traditional and contemporary sources, from their own compositions and Copper Family favourites to rousing dance tunes and quieter mood pieces.

Their debut CD, Gardenaire, was released last year and the band is fast becoming a favourite on the club and festival circuit.

Admission to the event is £5 on the door, the music starts at 8.30pm and the enquiry number is 728268.
