It’s almost 37 years since Elvis died but the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll which he embodied lives on as West End star Mario Kombou returns to the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne, on Saturday, July 12 with The Elvis Years 1954-1977.
Mario, who took the lead role in the smash hit West End musical Jailhouse Rock, is joined in this production by Ivor Novello Award winning musical director Dave Mackay. He leads the incredible band in this show which is a concert style production of Jailhouse Rock the musical.
‘The King’ World Champion Mario delivers a tour de force performance in a show packed with more than 50 greatest hits - from the early days of Sun Studios and That’s Alright Mama, through the Hollywood years of GI Blues and It’s Now or Never, the ‘68 TV special with All Shook Up, culminating in the legendary Las Vegas concert, with In The Ghetto, Suspicious Minds and American Trilogy.
Mario is the only Elvis impersonator who has been endorsed by a member of the Presley family, with the King’s cousin Donna Presley declaring him “The Best Elvis since Elvis”.
With a full supporting live band this cast of ten recreates all the facets of the King’s career, featuring 50 best loved hits that also include Blue Suede Shoes, Jailhouse Rock, The Wonder of You, Hound Dog and more.
