The south coast’s favourite pianist and organist, John Mann, continues his 33rd season at Eastbourne’s Winter Garden with three summer dates.
These are July 24, August 26 and September 25.
The John Mann Music Show has been a regular and popular fixture of the Floral Hall’s summer offering since 1980 (with the exception of one year when the roof was renovated). Audiences can expect afternoons of gentle music and John’s trademark humour which can be cheeky - but never crass.
The show will feature a mixture of tunes from the 1930s through to the 1960s; including film and musical theatre classics by composers such as Ivor Novello, Irving Berlin and George Gershwin.
Each performance offers a different programme of music with plenty of ‘sing-a-longs’. John will be using his ever faithful Eminent Grand Theatre organ and the theatre’s own Steinway piano.
The delightful setting of the Floral Hall makes a perfect environment for a relaxing afternoon enjoying yesterday’s music played live, accompanied with John’s unique presenting style.
Those who are used to John’s work will know what to expect, and those who are yet to be acquainted with this regular star of the Winter Garden’s summer seasons are sure to be won over by his cheerful stage presence.
Melodic tunes interwoven with his friendly banter make The John Mann Music Show unbeatable for old fashioned, classic entertainment.
The John Mann Music Show is at the Winter Gardens, Floral Hall, on Thursday afternoons July 24, August 28 and September 25 at 2.30pm. Tickets priced £7, to book call the box office on 01323 412000 or visit www.eastbourne theatres.co.uk.
