Rehearsing sections of Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor at this season’s opening rehearsal proved “a very rewarding experience” both for Phoenix Choir’s singers and for MD Michael Fields.
Less familiar than Mozart’s renowned blockbuster Requiem, this earlier work holds much to engage participants, presenting for many singers a new challenge to be relished. Requiring a double chorus for performance means that increased numbers for all lower voice ranges will be warmly welcomed to sample a rehearsal session.
This will be held on Wednesday evening in All Saints Church Hall in Grange Road from 7.30-9.30pm, when musical scores will be available. If singing Mozart is for you, come along and try taking up this opportunity. The Phoenix Choir formed in 2002 and currently has 45 members.
