Experienced actor Hugh Sachs is completely bowled over with his first ever appearance in a musical.
Hugh plays gangster Moonface Martin in Cole Porter’s classic comedy Anything Goes which is on at The Congress Theatre next week.
He joined the production’s Christmas run at Sheffield and is now thoroughly enjoying his first spell of touring for many years as the show heads around the UK.
“It’s been very exciting and I am learning so much every day. The team is wonderfully talented group, all singing and dancing so brilliantly,” he told the Herald as the show played Liverpool this week.
“I knew I could sing but the dancing has taken time. The cast are all very helpful and generous and it really is a fantastic, feelgood show that includes an incredible tap routine.
“All the action takes place on a line from America to London and it’s as if all structures have been taken away - allowing romance and madcap silliness to take over.
“It’s just one of those shows that is infectious and the audiences soon get into the swing of things.”
Hugh, probably most famous for playing Gavin in the TV hit comedy show Benidorm, is looking forward to his week in Eastbourne.
“I’ve never played at Eastbourne and am really looking forward to spending some time on the seafront.”
Also starring in the production is Debbie Kurup, Matt Rawle, Jane Wymark, Simon Rouse and Zoe Rainey.
Anything Goes runs at The Congress Theatre from Tuesday, March 24 to Saturday, March 28 - call 01323 412000 for more information or to book.
