A CONCERT is taking place at St Saviour’s Church on September 3 (1pm).
On the programme are melodies for voice, violin and piano – including Angela Goodall (mezzo soprano) performing Sabboth Morning at Sea from Elgar’s Sea Songs, Anne Parkin (violin) will play Elgar’s Chanson de Marin, Fritz Kreisler’s Praeludium and Allegro and Francois Schubert’s The Bee.
Voice and Violin will join forces in Corngold’s Mariette’s Song and The Angels’s Serenade by Braga, and Strauss’s sublime song Morgen.
Angela Goodall is a well-known singer, and Anne Parkin was first violin under Sir Simon Rattle and The Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Gordon Bull (accompanist) is himself a conductor, pianist and composer.
