The Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1979, continues its 35th season with its 130th concert (a history of all concerts on www.eso.org.uk).
Its summer concert features Vaughan Williams’s The Wasps Overture, Elgar’s Chanson de Matin and Chanson de Nuit, Shostakovich’s Piano Concert No 2, and Beethoven’s Symphony No 7.
The piano soloist is Gen Li, the winner of the orchestra’s annual young soloist competition, who is currently studying at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. The leader is Lisa Wigmore and the conductor is Graham Jones. The concert is on Sunday 14 June at 7pm in St Saviour’s Church, South Street BN21 4UT.
