THE FRESH and funky Disco Inferno hot-steps into the Congress Theatre next month (September 18-22) with a star cast which includes: EastEnders hunk Sam Attwater, Dani Harmer and pop star Javine Hylton.
This devilish new 70s musical, which has been described as Saturday Night Fever meets Damn Yankees, is the story of Faust set against an eruption of disco songs, high-energy dance routines and glitter-ball spinning action.
It’s London in the summer of 1976 and it’s as hot outside as the fashion, hits and passion are on the dance floor. Ambitious and talented young hopeful, Jack has a burning desire to make it in the music business at any cost.
Working late in a London nightclub, Jack meets Lucretia – a femme fatale and beautiful manifestation of the devil.
Jack strikes up a Faustian pact, trading his soul to fulfil his wildest fantasies.
Sounds like a bargain? Think again.
Packed with more than 30 classic 70s floor fillers this is a musical celebration of the spirit of the decade that brought us flared trousers, platform shoes and more glitter than would have been found in Liberace’s wardrobe.
The show includes the hits: Hot Stuff, Boogie Shoes, You To Me Are Everything, Relight My Fire, Blame It On The Boogie, Don’t Stop Me Now, I’m In The Mood For Dancing, Boogie Wonderland, I Will Survive, Highway To Hell, Spirit In The Sky and more.
With an electrifying score it’s guaranteed to warm hearts, get feet tapping and leave audiences with a daft grin of pleasure and fond memories of a sensational era.
Evening performances are at 7.30pm with Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm.
Tickets cost from £15-£24.50, call 412000.
